Take all suicidal comments or actions seriously. If you are concerned about the possibility of suicide, go to the nearest emergency room. In case of a mental health crisis, call 988 or seek the nearest emergency room.
The length of a person’s stay in an inpatient program depends on their individual needs, treatment goals, progress, success of medication and arrangement of aftercare services.
An inpatient mental health program is where a person will check themselves into a facility for 24-hour care for a period of time. They will stay overnight in the mental health facility to be overseen by medical professionals. The length of stay, and activities involved will often depend on the individual’s needs. Arbour hospital provides inpatient treatment for adults and adolescents.
A PHP is another mental health treatment option that does not require overnight stays at the facility, but does require more time than an IOP. PHP programs can be between five to seven days a week, with sessions lasting several hours. Arbour Hospital offers both Adult and Adolescent PHPs.
An IOP is a mental health treatment option that does not require overnight stays at the facility. During an IOP, you may engage in different types of therapy for a few hours, a few times a week. Arbour Hospital offers both Adult and Adolescent IOPs.
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs are designed to help those who struggle with addiction. Program specifics will vary, but they often include a mix of talk and behavioral therapy. Substance Abuse programs can be either inpatient or outpatient, depending on individual need. Arbour Hospital provides SUD programming at the Branches Jamaica Plains location.
Arbour Hospital programs and services are covered by most public and private health insurances. Insurance coverage, billing and other financial questions can be directed to our Business Office.
All patients seeking treatment have the right to complete confidentiality. Only individuals directly involved in your care will discuss your treatment. Due to confidentiality policies, we cannot notify family members and loved ones regarding your hospitalization. We follow all HIPAA policies.
Visitation and telephone hours are limited to specific times each day. All visitors must have the patient’s ID number to visit or call. Please review our visitors information page to learn more.
We believe a lack of transportation options should never prevent a person from receiving treatment for a psychiatric disorder. If you do not have access to affordable transportation, options may be available – please contact us to learn more.
Arbour Hospital is a smoke-free facility. Tobacco use of any kind is not permitted anywhere on campus. We offer smoking cessation options and counseling to patients who would like to try quitting during their stay.
