Kristin O’Brien, Director of Arbour Hospital – Quincy Center
Kristin has a decade of experience in healthcare, with a significant number of years in behavioral health nursing. Her clinical experience includes emergency nursing, medical-surgical nursing, corrections, and behavioral health. Outside the hospital, Kristin is involved with the American Nurses Association and participates in many community organizations in Quincy.
She is currently enrolled in a Master of Science program with a focus on hospital administration and management at Aspen University and is also becoming board certified as a clinical psychiatric nurse specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Communications from Suffolk University, her Associate of Science in Nursing from Laboure College, and has an Associate of Arts from Quincy College.
Ricardo Flores, Human Resources Executive
Ricardo has over 20 years of experience as a human resources executive, 15 of which have been in a leadership role. His role as a human resources (HR) leader in major corporations in Boston, New York, Florida, and Mexico included successfully re-engineering the HR Department goals and practices to be aligned with business objectives.
Ricardo proficiently develops and implements innovative recruitment and retention strategies, researches and implements HR information systems, develops employee policies and procedures. He also manages employee relations, performance measurement systems, compensation and benefits systems, recognition programs, and safety programs as well as conducts labor negotiations, business process redesign, critical incident response, and management initiatives.
Laurence Ducomb, Chief Medical Officer
Laurence earned his medical degree in Detroit at Wayne State School of Medicine in 1975 and completed his residential training in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1979. He started working at Arbour Hospital in 1982 as an attending psychiatrist and has devoted his career to the service of psychiatric inpatients. He accepted the position of chief medical officer in 2014, which has given him the opportunity to work with a dynamic medical staff and interdisciplinary team to coordinate the best care for his patients.
Sylvester Enaifoghe, Director of Service Excellence and Human Rights
Sylvester is responsible for receiving and investigating patient complaints regarding human rights and allegations of regulatory standard violations. He monitors organization practices to assure compliance and serves as a resource to patients and staff to make sure patients are aware of their rights. He assists in the development of educational programs to promote understanding of rights and responsibilities within the hospital.
Prior to his current role, Sylvester served as the milieu manager of two adult units within Arbour Hospital for roughly 20 years. In that role, he was responsible for milieu programing and worked with treatment teams and patients to meet their treatment goals. Sylvester also coordinates with area colleges and universities in recruitment for co-op and internship programs at the hospital.
Shaun Doherty, Director of Nursing
Shaun has worked at Arbour Hospital for 18 years and has fulfilled the roles of staff registered nurse, nursing supervisor, nurse manager, director of admissions, and director of nursing. As director of nursing, it is his responsibility to oversee the day-to-day operations within the hospital and daily admissions during the week. He provides service excellence and works with all members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Craig Keefe, Director of Clinical Services
Craig spent several years in the 90’s at Arbour Hospital working in both the Intake and Crisis Departments. He left to engage in a career that has included clinical experience in the prison system, school systems, outpatient agencies, and most notable as clinical director at the Academy of Physical and Social Development in Newton since 2013. Craig is a Master of Social Work and licensed independent clinical social worker.
He rejoined the Arbour team in June of 2017. Craig’s shift back into the inpatient setting was motivated by the opportunities to apply quality care to a patient population that requires several resources to assist in daily stabilization and community reintegration.
Janna Frelich, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Janna is a board-certified music therapist and mental health clinician. She works in the outpatient clinic and runs groups in our substance abuse IOP.
Ainat Rogel, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Ainat specializes in the treatment of trauma patients. She has received training in the use of trauma-informed techniques at Justice Resource Institute.
Joseph Gerena, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Joseph is an experienced mental health counselor who has worked with complicated cases involving individuals and their families.
Julio Miralda, Licensed Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor
Julio works with our Spanish speaking patients who have primary presenting problems with substance abuse.
Ursula Wright, Medical Assistant
Ursula is an experienced clinician who has worked in the court system as a probation officer. She works with patients with dual diagnosis, major mental illness and court involvement.
Melissa Smerling, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Melissa is a full-time staff member who has experience working with patients in residential recovery. She works extensively with patients who have trauma-related issues and is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing.
Kristen Beaudouin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kristen works with a wide range of patients with mental health issues and has focused her practice on working with the LGBTQ population.
Ashley Griffin, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Ashley has extensive experience working with patients who suffer from chronic mental illness.
Mike Stevens, Licensed Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor
Mike specializes in the treatment of patients with primary substance abuse disorders. He runs our Suboxone and IOP programs.
Asena Mercan-Weldon, Medical Assistant
Asena works with patients who have a primary mental health diagnosis. She specializes in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder, using various exposure therapy techniques to enhance functioning.
David Roman, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
David is an experienced clinician who utilizes modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to treat patients with a wide range of behavioral and emotional issues.
Audrey Ryan, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Audrey focuses on the implementation of DBT, runs her own private practice and provides crisis intervention through Boston Emergency Services Team.
Miriam Garber, Medical Assistant
Miriam provides treatment in Spanish and English in group and individual modalities. She is a trained yoga instructor and employs movement techniques into her practice.
